A New Home

In February, 2007 my husband and I, after much discussion and thought, decided to move closer to our families. It was not an easy decision as we loved our location in the foothills of the White Mountains of New Hampshire. With the addition of grandchildren to our family, however, the need for me to travel to Massachusetts on a more frequent basis, and the rising cost of gas!!!, it was time to make the move.

We were very fortunate to quickly find a house in a small Southern New Hampshire town, bordering Massachusetts, that fit our needs perfectly. Then we were doubly fortunate to find buyers for our mountain home. The speed with which that happened really convinced us we were doing the right thing.

Moving day was scheduled for late April, but thanks to a freak spring Nor’easter, which dumped a foot of snow in our area, and washed out the road, we had to postpone the move until early May. There was no way the moving trucks were going to get up to us, much less get all our “stuff” out.

Everything works out in the end, however, and we are now settled in very nicely. Of course, some of my work had to be put on hold while all this was going on. My main concern was getting my new email address out to everyone who needed it, since we had to get a new provider. That and all the other “red tape” of moving is what takes up so much time. But, like I said, it all works out, and I’m back in the groove and chugging along smoothly.
