Midwest Book Review

Imagine my delight when I found out that the “Midwest Book Review,” a well-respected publication for librarians, published a review of “Learning Later, Living Greater.”

Here’s what they have to say about my book.

“Lifelong learning expert Nancy Merz Nordstrom and critically acclaimed writer Jon F. Merz present “Learning Later, Living Greater: The Secret for Making the Most of Your After-50 Years,” a guide to reaping the benefits of lifelong learning. From why learning is important to stimulate activity in the aging brain, to pros, cons and distinctions of classroom learning as compared to learning through educational travel or through volunteer work, to where to find the most innovative lifelong learning programs, “Learning Later, Living Greater” effectively demystifies the fun and life-enriching promise of improving one's knowledge. Highly recommended.”

The Midwest Book Review is, and I quote, “The Midwest Book Review is an organization of volunteers committed to promoting literacy, library usage, and small press publishing. We accept no funds from authors or publishers. The Midwest Book Review publishes the monthly book review magazines "California Bookwatch", "Internet Bookwatch", "Children's Bookwatch", "MBR Bookwatch", "Reviewer's Bookwatch", "Small Press Bookwatch", and "California Bookwatch". All are available for free on the Midwest Book Review website at http://www.midwestbookreview.com.

Needless to say we are very happy about this review and hope it is the first of many.

Blogging

In an effort to get the word out about the value of learning later for older adults, I am now blogging on four different sites.

My very first blogging site is www.blogger.com. This is the site that is connected to my web site, www.learninglater.com, and everything I input into Blogger appears on my Home Page Blogger, a division of Google is, according to their web site, “focusing on helping people have their own voice on the web and organizing the world's information from the personal perspective.”

You can find my Blog under the name LearningLaterLivingGreater.

The second site is www.Eons.com. According to Jeff Taylor the founder of both Monster.com and Eons… “Eons, is all about celebrating life that begins at 50.” Eons wants people “to start thinking about the unprecedented opportunity to travel and explore, to re-invent our careers, to nurture relationships, to give back to the community, to live life to the fullest.”

You can find my Blog on Eons under the name LearningLater.

The next site where I have started blogging is www.seniorsgrandcentral.com. The vision of Seniors Grand Central (SGC), is, according to their web site to “Connect. Learn. Explore. - Three abilities we use throughout our entire life. We Connect to other people, Learn from a variety of means, and Explore all things set before us. During our years we sometimes lose the ability to easily Connect. Many times Learning the things we'd like to isn't readily available or easy to access. Exploration of our world, our potential, and our imagination has not always been available to each of us. We're here to change that. Seniors Grand Central provides an extension to the 3 core abilities that we've embraced our entire lives, and is built around the natural language we use everyday. After all technology should make your life easier, not more difficult. So I invite you to join us, and Connect with other Members 1 Mile or 10,000 Miles away, Learn about all matters great, and small, and Explore to the extents of your imagination & intrigue.”

I will have more news about my involvement with Seniors Grand Central coming up soon.

Finally, I’m blogging at www.successtelevison.com. According to their web site, Success Television is “is a media company focused on bringing you, the viewer, stories and videos, to help you navigate toward your best life. We work with experts, speakers and organizations that seek to share knowledge and wisdom primarily in the areas of career, wisdom, relationship, and wellness.
