More Radio Interviews

Thanks to my publisher, Sentient Publications, I took part in another radio interview in late December. "Issues Today," with Bob Gourley, is a 30-minute weekly radio show that addresses the needs of all Americans, and is syndicated to over 160 stations across the Country. I was flattered to be asked to be a guest. The program will air in January, 2008.

The day after New Year’s I was a guest on the Sunrise Show on WUML, 91.5 F.M., the local NPR affiliate from the University of Massachusetts, Lowell. Although I was supposed to be in the studio for this interview, a severe head cold and a snowstorm kept me at home. Thanks to the phone, however, I was still able to do the interview. The hosts, Chris and Matt were enthusiastic, asked excellent questions, and despite my head cold, I had a great time.

Book sales are up and I have to thank both these interviews for helping promote “Learning Later, Living Greater: The Secret for Making the Most of Your After-50 Years.”

WUML Radio Interview

Recently I was contacted by the National Public Radio station WUML, 91.5 FM at the University of Massachusetts Lowell about appearing on the morning radio show, “Sunrise,” to discuss my new book, “Learning Later, Living Greater: The Secret for Making the Most of Your After-50 Years.”

“Sunrise” is their morning drive-time, talk and informational show, a nice mixture of guests and music. Although I was due to go to the radio station, located on the University campus, a nasty head cold kept me home. I certainly did not want to infect the radio crew. We also had a snowstorm to content with that morning as well.

Thanks to technology, or in this case, MA Bell, the phone was our tool of choice, and the interview went off without a hitch. It was a lively time with the hosts asking excellent questions. It’s my hope that the listening public was given some food for thought, and perhaps found themselves inspired enough to pick up the book.

A Wonderful Article

On November 4, 2007 a wonderful article about my book appeared in the Lowell Sun, Lowell, Massachusetts. Entitled “Live and learn Pelham writer touts the benefits of new experiences for a vital retirement,” by Nancye Tuttle, the article, along with my picture took up the entire front page of the Lifestyles section of the paper. I was speechless when I saw the size of the article.

Needless to say, this article has gone into my scrapbook.

Thanks to the article I had a wonderful email from a woman who is dealing with serious life issues and wants to go back to school. We had a wonderful dialog and I wish her well.
